Erika Howe is the legendary director/producer of Mrs. Texas United States, and a lovely woman in her own right. On April 30, 2006, she held her latest event.

The winner was Jennifer Hayden, who competed as Mrs. DFW. That's Texas talk for "Dallas-Fort Worth."

The first runner-up was Megan Zucaro, Mrs. Belton, and the second runner-up was Valerie Schley, Mrs. Plano. The third runner-up was Alexandra Chavez, Mrs. El Paso, and the fourth runner-up was Jennifer Gilchrist, Mrs. Frisco.

If Ms. Howe had simply told us these were beautiful women, we would have believed her. (She wouldn't lie.) But now that we've seen them, our confidence in her is even stronger. This is the way pageants are supposed to be.
