| A Florida fantasy Photos by Paul Fong / PNB | ![]()

| "Is Miss America the same as Miss USA?" "Do Miss America and Miss USA compete against each other?" The answer to both questions is "no," but people ask them all the time. Of course, every true follower of pageants knows that the Miss America system and the Miss USA system are as separate as Coke and Pepsi, as different as the Dodgers and the Yankees. Though women may cross over from one system to another, the two pageants stay in their own spheres. |

But in the world of fantasy, anything can happen. And if a state's Miss USA contestant and its Miss America contestant went head to head, wouldn't that be a beautiful daydream? So as a public service to your imagination, we are providing some still shots and the basic plotline for a blockbuster pageant movie that will play inside your head. |

| Who better to provide the pictures than PNB's own Paul Fong? And what better plot than a showdown between Miss Florida America and Miss Florida USA? After all, Florida is the state where a showdown between two evenly matched political parties once brought America to a standstill. So if Allison Kreiger, Miss Florida America 2006, and Jenna Edwards, Miss Florida USA 2006, were competing against each other, would the world ever be the same? |

| Only you know the answer, because you're directing the movie. But when the credits roll in your cinematic mind, make sure PNB is listed as "Executive Producer." Disclaimer: Allison Kreiger will compete at Miss America. Jenna Edwards will compete at Miss USA. Watch both. PNB is not responsible for any fantasies beyond the scope of this article. |
